Me and three mates came down the river and spent the night under canvas at the White lion, had dinner on the night and breakfast in the morning really good food and really nice people. Thanks dave for fitting us in.

me and a friend just spent the weekend down here[7/8 oct] at the white lion on a fishing weekend.although we only spent a hr or 2 fishing[lol] we was made to feel welcome from dave and jackie.excellent setting on the river.also the 2 lads from swindon rick and mal, and wee jimmy and his mrs were a joy to meet[wot a laugh]rooms were clean and tidy,breakfasts were proper english belly bustin,[proper grub].well worth it.excellent hosts, excellent setting.money well spent.defo stay at this place again in the future..a.t.b.wiggy

Stayed for 2 nights camping/canoeing recently. Dave and Jacqui could not have been more friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The camping area was perfect - next to the river - and the facilities were exactly as the website described - functional and extrememly clean. Had a lovely freshly cooked English breakfast on both mornings and the pub meals in the evening were fantastic - recommend the Kangaroo and Zebra! Even our dogs were made most welcome outside and even in the bar when it got cold! Would definately stay at the White Lion again.

Two more excellent meals in the last week, with our visitors. Our visitors always comment on the good quality of the food, and are surprised at how reasonable are the prices. Thanks again, Jaqui and Dave.

just back from another great trip to the white lion ,spent a few days fishing the river with a good mate having some fine food and drink and enjoying Dave and Jacqui,s hospitality.The only bad thing about it was that it had to end, can,t wait to be back next year, what a place! keep up the good work lads. see you next year roll on the barbel. thank you. my dad lives in ross on wye and i go down to see him every 2 weeks and we used to go there every saturday the bar staff are all really kind and they all know my dad and his partner very well
